What a 30-yard container holds
The 30-yard roll-off measures 22 feet long, 7.5 feet wide, and 6 feet high outside. It occupies exactly the same ground as our 20-yard box; the additional capacity is all wall height. That geometry suits light, bulky debris: framing lumber, cabinetry, drywall, flooring, furniture, fixtures, and packaging. With six-foot sides, the rear door matters — swing it open and walk the big pieces in first, then load over the side as the pile grows.
The storm and flood cleanup box
The Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, and NOAA puts most activity between mid-August and mid-October, peaking around September 10. Jackson knows what the wet end of that looks like: in August 2022 the Pearl River crested at 35.37 feet and flooded parts of northeast Jackson, with officials estimating 100 to 150 homes affected. A flooded interior turns into volume fast — soaked drywall, insulation, carpet, and furniture all have to leave the house before anything dries out. Placement and overhead room
Ground requirements match the 20: 22 feet of solid, level surface plus run-out room for the truck. The difference is above the box — the truck raises its bed steeply to deliver and retrieve, and a taller container tightens the margin under limbs, wires, and eaves, so report everything overhead when you book. When the debris is light and the volume is large: multi-room renovation, demolition cleanup, retail or office clearing, or a storm gut-out. The 30 uses the same 22-foot footprint as the 20 — the extra ten yards come from the six-foot walls, so it needs no more driveway, just more overhead room.
Can I put concrete or dirt in a 30-yard box?
Not as the main load. Dense material hits the legal hauling weight long before a six-foot-wall box looks full, so concrete, brick, and soil are quoted into the 15-yard container at a set fill depth instead. If a demo produces both rubble and light debris, tell us — separating the two is how both get hauled without a problem.
What storm debris can go in the container?
Soaked drywall, flooring, insulation, furniture, fencing, and cut vegetation are normal loads. Keep refrigerators, air conditioners, batteries, and tires out — Mississippi restricts all of them at disposal sites — and set aside any appliance until its status is confirmed on the call. Wet material weighs more than it looks, so name it when you book.
How full can I load a 30-yard dumpster?
Level with the top rail, never above it. The truck has to tarp and legally haul the box, and anything mounded over the rim stops the pickup. With six-foot walls, plan the load: walk bulky pieces in through the rear door first, then fill over the side.
